Low Calorie Snacks that Taste Good

Crystal Sciarini
Millions of diets are ruined everyday by snacking. Snacking does not have to ruin your diet. By choosing low calorie snacks that taste good you can avoid sabotaging your diet. Although these snacks are low calorie you still need to use moderation when eating these foods. I find that having three two hundred calorie snacks spread throughout the day help keep my energy up and my tummy full.

Gerber Graduate Fruit or Veggie Puffs
These cereal like snacks are made for babies and toddlers, but they are yummy enough to make a low calorie snack for us parents too. Gerber Graduate Puffs are available in five fruit flavors and two vegetable flavors. Each half cup serving has just 25 calories. The downside to the puffs is they don't have much nutritional value. There is no fiber and only minimal amounts of potassium, calcium, and vitamin E.

Jell-O Mousse Temptations
A brand new product from Jell-O that is sinfully delicious and low calorie to boot! These low calorie mousse snacks are only available in select markets for the moment, but will be in markets everywhere within the next few weeks. All three flavors are just 60 calories, 1 gram of fiber, and 10 grams of carbohydrates.

McDonald's Fruit and Yogurt Parfait
When your on the go and you need a low calorie snack grab a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait from McDonald's. Due to the fiber and protein content parfaits make a filling snack that is just 130 calories. The granola adds an additional thirty calories though so I skip the granola.

Healthy Life Low Calorie Bread and Tuna
Healthy Life brand has a high fiber low calorie bread made from whole wheat. At just 35 calories a slice dieters everywhere can now enjoy bread once again. Use one slice of bread and a few spoonfuls of tuna for a healthy snack that is also filling. I add onion, celery, and pepper for an even more satisfying snack.

Scrambled Egg and Salsa
Eggs are not just for breakfast. Eggs are high in protein making them a perfect low calorie snack. Add a bit of salsa for flavor without many calories. Scramble the eggs with soy milk to save even more calories. Use a microwave safe bowl and your snack will be ready in seconds. Add the salsa after cooking the egg for best results.
