Low Cost Decorating Apps for Your iPad and iPhone

A. Hermitt
Thanks to the iPhone and now the iPad, home decorators have access to many free decorating apps. These apps help you choose paint colors, measure flooring, and stay on top of decorating trends. These free apps, have definitely helped my in my decorating needs, but like everything free, these apps are limited, or I have had to deal with a lot of advertising. Over time I have found that I prefer the following low price apps better.

Keep up with the latest design trends using the Dream Home app. This app is worth the money because you can search the information based on room type or design style. This app is only $2.99

You won't have to spend hours searching the Internet anymore for how-to instructions. Instead, you can find them with the Handy Man DIY App for just $1.99. Features of this app includes storing items for later reference, figuring room dimensions, creating shopping lists, and price estimation of the project.

If you have a spouse who can't "see your idea", you need Mark on Call. You use the tool to upload your fabrics, palettes, and finishes, and apply them to photos of your room. Before this $2.99 app was created, you had to purchase expensive designing software to do this effectively.

This app will save you time and money by helping you get your paint colors right the first time. The Color Change app for $2.99. You can use this app the manipulate the colors of your room to show you how your choice of color will look on your walls.

AddDecor helps to solve one of the biggest decorating question out there. "What color did I paint this room?" If you can't find your touch-up paint and want to keep your existing room color, you can use the information you saved in your AddDecor App to purchase extra paint in the exact same color or to find items that go with your existing decor. This app costs $3.99.

There are still some free iPhone apps that are indispensable. The Houzz app is a great inspirational tool with thousands of photos of beautiful decorating photos. Similarly, the GoodHousekeeping@home app, gives decorating ideas as well as a cleaning database at your fingertips.
