Admission requirements are easy as there is no LSAT to take, and students without an undergraduate degree may still apply for the JD. In such cases, the CLEP examination is recommended and the applicant must demonstrate command of the English language through various testing and writing samples. In addition, 6 semester units must be completed from any of the following: Composition and Literature, Foreign Languages, History, Math or Business. These scores will satisfy the California Bar law student registration, and Northwestern California University will not ask you for anything more.
Enrollment may be done throughout the year and the student may begin at once. All coursework is performed online and the student need not visit the campus except for participation in the Mock Baby Bar, which prepares students for the mandatory California Baby Bar exam issued each year. Attendance is strongly advised, but not mandated, and all study materials for the Baby Bar are provided online. Examinations are taken via proctor of the student's choice, who must be a professional in the field of education.
Students may take control of their study time by selecting their own courses when they prefer to take them. An online study manager will assist to ensure all coursework is completed and the necessary exams are scheduled. Thus, the student will coordinate their own time line for written briefs, open-book quizzes, mid terms and finals.
These self-guided law degree programs are available to students outside of California, as the BSL is a bachelor's program suited for adding on post graduate work from any state. Also, the JD degree has reciprocal states that will recognize the California Bar Association, allowing legal practice in the student's home state.
Check the website under FAQ for a complete list of states that will accept this JD.
The benefits from studying law reach far beyond prosecutorial or private practice. A law degree is an excellent launchpad for doctoral work and moving up in the corporate world. Northwestern California University gets the green light for their valiant effort in keeping costs down and enrollment up.

Post a CommentInteresting article. Making law school affordable and accessible makes sense. But most states do not allow graduates of non-accredited law schools to take the bar exam.
