Low Level World of Warcraft Gold Farming Using the Skinning Profession

In World of Warcraft, one of the biggest problems for low-level player is the ability to finance the acquisition of new skills and also to build up a profession to a point where it can adequately help you advance rather than just being a secondary source of income in the game. At the very beginning of your characters development, there's not much you can do in order to gain a steady amount of income, however once that character has reached level 20 or so, earning gold will be much easier. This is because of the often used practice of gold farming. Generally, gold farming is left for the higher level players who have nothing else to accomplish within the game itself besides acquiring equipment and doing raids or PvP. This doesn't necessarily have to be the case, as there are many places to gold farm for the low-level character who has the skinning ability.

For most alliance characters, once you reach the early to mid 20's you are able to go into places where there is an abundance of wildlife. Additionally, at that level, the wolves and other mobs will begin dropping medium leather. Well it doesn't do too much for leatherworking at this point, a stack of 20 medium leather will sell for at least five gold on any server. The best part about that is for the most part you will be able to get this leather while you're leveling in a place like Darkshire. If you go to Darkshire you will be able to complete most of the quests there and make between 20 and 200 leather during that time. If you spend a lot of time in Darkshire as I have done, you can make upwards of 500 leather and under a few days of mild playing. If you even make 100 leather from your time in Darkshire you will make upwards of 25-30 gold and will be able to finance most of your training and bag purchases up to the point where you can focus on raiding instances for rare items that you can sell for even more gold.

While this is not meant to be a definitive guide to gold farming for lower levels, this tip has single-handedly made me upwards of 100 gold in one day on a low level 20 character and has made leveling process exponentially easier. Hopefully this idea will spur some thought as to more gold farming ideas and it will make the repetitive process of low level grinding a more interesting and lucrative experience.
