Low-Calorie Options at Wendy's

Wendy's has some new and classic menu options which work for anyone on a diet. The following items are diet friendly, and they still fill you up.

Apple Pecan Chicken Salad. The salad by itself is only 350 calories. Add the pecans and the Pomegranate Vinaigrette Dressing and the calorie total still only reaches 520 calories, which is impressive since many dressings pack on the fat and calories. The Pomegranate Vinaigrette is also a fresh option, which is different from the same old salad that many restaurants offer.

Large Chili. Wendy's large chili is only 330 calories. Add some saltine crackers and that brings the total to only 355 calories. Wendy's chili is one of my top choices for healthy and low-calorie fast food because it's cheap, it fills me up, and it tastes great. The chili is also very mild so it is great for those who can't handle the hot stuff. If you like a little more spice, most locations offer a hot chili seasoning packet, which is only an additional 5 calories.

Jr. Hamburger and Value Fries. If you have to have a burger and fries, the Jr. Hamburger and Value Fries are your best bet, with only 450 calories total for both items. They may be smaller portions, but you can still enjoy a burger and fries at a fraction of the calories you'd get in a larger meal.

Ultimate Chicken Grill and Oranges. Pair the Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich with a side of mandarin oranges and you've got a meal for only 460 calories. The Ultimate Chicken Grill is tasty and healthy, with veggies and honey mustard sauce. Mandarin oranges are the same tasty little oranges you probably had as a kid.

Grilled Chicken Go Wrap. For a light snack or meal, the Grilled Chicken Go Wrap is only 260 calories. The other chicken wraps, the Homestyle and Spicy Chicken Wraps, are only 320 calories. Any of these options offer a low calorie alternative to diet-devastating burgers and shakes.

Bake Potatoes. Wendy's Plain Baked Potatoe is only 270 calories. If plain is too vanilla for you, you can opt to add butter for an additional 50 calories, or you can order a Sour Cream & Chives Potato for 320 calories.

Drinks. When selecting your drink, obviously the best low-calorie option is water. Diet soda is an option, but many dieticians don't recommend it as it dehydrates you and offers nothing in the way of nutrition. Nesquik low fat milk is only 100 calories, and Minute Maid Light Lemonade is only 10 calories for a small.

All in all, Wendy's offers some different options which are healthy for dieters. I enjoy eating there when I must grab something on the go.
