Part 1 of lowering diabetic blood sugar with vinegar articles

Diabetes is the sixth most common cause for death in Canada. The statistics vary from province to province. The rates for Diabetes in Canada is among the highest compared to other OECD (Convention on the Organization for Economic Co-operation) countries. Treatment for diabetes is the third leading reason to see a doctor in Canada. Concerned Montrealers need to see their family doctor to see if they are diabetic or pre-diabetic. The doctor will refer them to highly trained Montreal diabetes specialists or endocrinologist for blood testing.

New research on the use of vinegarto lower blood sugar levels in diabetics

Carol Johnston, Nutrition Researcher at the University of Arizona, East, is studying the effects of vinegar on the blood glucose levels of diabetes. Just as little as one tablespoon of vinegar a day will do it but two are better. Dr. Johnston says that Hypocrites used vinegar as a form of medicine, so the properties of vinegar were known way back then. "Vinegar decreases both fasting and postprandial (after-meal) glucose levels"

In one study there were three groups who added vinegar to the daily diet: the control group, who did not suffer from diabetes, the pre-diabetic group, and the type 2 diabetes group. Each group was given vinegar to consume first thing in the morning. The results showed that blood glucose levels were lowered for the diabetes group that had taken the vinegar. Dr. Johnston says that the vinegar works the same way as two of the most prescribed drugs, metformin and acarbose, have on lowering diabetes.

One study showed taking two tablespoons of apple-cider vinegar and with an ounce of cheese lowered fasting blood sugar levels, Diabetes Care (November 2007).

This is truly exciting for diabetics such as this Montreal health examiner. Anything natural is always better than having to take drugs. Please not this Montreal examiner is not advocating to abandon drugs, Montrealers must follow the advise of their physicians.
