Lower-Fat Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Recipe

A Delicious New Side Dish with Less Fat Than the Original!

C. M. Denis
Do you love Brussels sprouts and bacon but hate the grease and fat? This recipe uses bacon bits, and roasts the Brussels sprouts, cutting the grease and fat, without cutting the flavor!

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup bacon bits (turkey bacon bits can be substituted, but may change the taste a bit)
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 lb. cleaned Brussels sprouts ( I prefer smaller - sized sprouts because they cook more thoroughly and are sweeter)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Toss the Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, garlic, thyme, and salt until evenly coated. Pour into an 8x8 square baking dish (glass works best). Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes or until sprouts are tender.Remove from oven, immediately sprinkle with bacon and parmesan and serve. Delicious!
