Low-Sugar Halloween Candy

F.Jason Whitaker
Halloween and sugar are two words that go together well. The beginning of September means the stores will soon have shelves crammed full of sugar filled treats.

With diabetes and a trend towards healthier living the idea of low-sugar candy for Halloween is something to consider. There are sugar-free and low-sugar options but if you want candy then you are more limited.

There are some low-sugar candy options that will go over well with children.

The one that comes to mind first are Twizzlers. They are not sugar-free but they contain less sugar than some candy. They come in a couple of flavors.

Jelly Belly Jelly Beans have low-sugar and sugar-free varieties. The flavors are not as vast but Jelly Belly Jelly Beans are always great.

Life Savers have some flavors available in Sugar-free. Life Savers are great to hand out on Halloween.

The best thing to do if avoiding sugar with Halloween treats is to either choose a healthy option that is not candy or browse the shelves for sugar-free or low-sugar varieties of your favorite candy.

Halloween treats do not have to be loaded with sugar to be good. There are not as many choices when looking for sugar-free and low-sugar options but they are out there.
