During the second half of the game, the Tigers outscored Boise State 22-8.
Fired up after a spectacular dunk by LSU's Malcom White that was followed up with a nice layup from Justin Hamilton, the Tigers stretched the lead to 39-30 with just 13:01 left to play. Other highlights in the last quarter of play were a jump play by Storm Warren and another dunk by Johnny O'Bryant III.
Leading scorers for the game for LSU were Justin Hamilton with 14 points, Anthony Hickey with 11 points and Johnny O'Bryant III and Storm Warren both scoring 10 points each.
LSU held Boise's Anthony Drmic scoreless for 28 minutes of play, almost an entire half of the game. Drmic came into the game with LSU averaging 15 points per game.
Derrick Marks led the Boise Broncos with 12 points, followed by Jeff Elorriaga with 11 points in the game.
LSU had two player who did not dress out for the game due to injuries. Starting guard Andre Stringer, who had a fainting spell earlier in the week did not play due to tests being performed. John Isaac also did not play or dress out for the game due to a knee injury received at afternoon practice.
Eddie Ludwig started the game for Stringer and accomplished 9 rebounds, one assist and one block in just 33 minutes of play. Stringer also contributed two points to the scoreboard.
The win over Boise State puts the Tigers at 6-3 for the season.
