LSU Tigers No. 1 in AP Poll, No. 2 in Coaches Poll

The rankings for collegiate football were released this afternoon, Sunday, September 25, 2011 and the LSU Tigers find themselves in the No 1 spot on the AP Poll and tied with Alabama at No. 2 on the Coaches Poll.

The Tigers defeated West Virginia Saturday night in Morgantown, WV by a score of 47-21. The highlight of the game was Morris Claiborne's 99 yard kickoff return.

Tiger fans have been waiting for their team to move up in the rankings, despite Head Coach Les Miles, giving very meek statements to the press saying he would rather "sneak" up there later in the season. Tiger fans don't want to wait. They feel that their team deserved to be in the No. 1 spot with 3 compelling wins on the road and one at Tiger Stadium.

The Top 5 teams in the country have been flip flopping around since the beginning of the season and this week is no different. However, LSU, Oklahoma and Alabama have been the main contenders for the top three spots after LSU knocked off Oregon in their season opener in Arlington for the Cowboys Classic.

LSU will next play a conference game against the Kentucky Wildcats at home in Tiger Stadium. The game will kick off at 11:20 am and be carried by the SEC Network.

Here are the Top 25 rankings for NCAA football for the fourth week:
