This frozen dinner enticed me with it's tasty looking image on the front of the box as well as the low price. The packaging depicts a very satisfying looking dinner with chunky pieces of whole meat chicken covered in a tangy sauce paired with rice and corn and black bean salsa. As always, this budget frozen meal cost me only two dollars and fifty cents.
Preparation of this convenience meal couldn't be any easier. After removing the tray from the outer carton, the film covering the food gets pierced with a fork or knife three or four times to vent. The chicken and sides then gets cooked for only five minutes on High in a microwave oven. The tray then gets removed from the oven and the plastic discarded prior to enjoying. To allow the flavors to co mingle, the contents should be stirred before eating. This frozen dinner is perfect for those hectic week nights when an elaborate and complicated meal is just not not on the agenda.
One complete meal contains two hundred and sixty calories. There is eight grams of Total Fat in this frozen dinner. Two point five grams of Saturated Fat is included in that total. There is absolutely no Trans Fat in this microwaveable meal which is definitely a plus. Those consumers watching their Cholesterol intake should take note that this meal contains thirty five grams. There is also six hundred and forty grams of sodium, thirty three grams of Total Carbohydrate and three grams of Dietary Fiber. On the positive side of the nutrient scale, each meal contains sixteen grams of Protein, ten percent of Vitamin A, fifteen percent of Vitamin C and ten percent of Calcium. Additionally, each Fiesta Chicken dinner offers six percent of Iron.
This frozen meal not only offers a nice amount of vitamins and nutrients, it is very tasty as well. The zesty sauce covering the delicious chunks of chicken is quite tangy and adds some welcome heat to the meal. The corn and black bean salsa makes a great side dish to the meat and rounds out the dinner very nicely. Overall, the meal is very satisfying and appeals to those of us who enjoy a nice amount of spice in our food. I would definitely give this frozen dinner a full five star rating and would certainly purchase it again.
