Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and even Hritik Roshan (shown as a Khan) are all comfortable in their roles but the audience are still looking for the story and do not get a grip until the intermission! The second half actually tells the some story and audience feel like being driven into something worthwhile. You can expect all the intelligence from Konkan sen any time. She plays her role perfectly and she is something that can play the "sensible cinema" anytime. Farhan Akhtar has played his role well of a struggler and then a star who makes it big and makes all the right moves at the right times. The new girl Isha still needs to graduate from the acting school. Her face is too plain and expressionless. Industry already has loads of beautiful bodies that are flaunting themselves. It takes more than a slim waist line and great thighs to make it big in the industry.
Music of the movie could have been better. The Circus song is the only one that is peppy, however, the song picturised on Farhan Akhtar when he is waiting for his screen test is catchy too. Audience expect a little better work from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy as music is one of the main support system of any movie like this one.
The movie is totally based on Bollywood, its hard work, its real-life and reel-life. The movie can be a real entertainer for those who are actually and closely associated with the film industry itself as they know more what goes around in there. For the ordinary audience, Bollywood is still the glamour world and they prefer to shut their eyes towards its crass realities.
Cameo by Shah Rukh Khan is really cool otherwise all other stars are gone before you realise that they have come on the screen - like Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bacchan, John Abraham, Akshay Khanna, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, .....
Zohra Akhtar has done a nice job as a director but to expect the movie to make it big like "Dil Chahta Hai" would be overly optimistic.
If you have nothing to do this Sunday, you can watch it but if you watch it on a DVD, you really don't miss anything exciting (infact save a lot of money!)
ONLY A ONE TIME WATCH!!!!
