Lucky Train on Facebook: Hints, Tips and Tricks

All-Aboard the Lucky Train on Facebook!

"Lucky Train" is a game application available on the Facebook social networking website. Game play for "Lucky Train" involves sending trains to your network of friends and building your own county and train station. Here's a game guide for "Lucky Train" containing hints and tips for leveling up and growing your train station empire.

Earning More Coins in "Lucky Train"
When a train arrives in your county, the passengers pay a fee to purchase their boarding ticket. In turn, you receive this money. As you progress through "Lucky Train," you'll upgrade your trains, making them bigger (the more passengers a train holds, the more money you'll earn!) and making their routes longer (more expensive tickets). The game begins with "Economy" passengers-in other words, cheapskates! But as you progress, customers who want to travel in luxury will want to board your train.

Buying and upgrading buildings also helps you earn more coins in "Lucky Train." The bigger and nicer the building, the "better" (read: willing to pay for pricier tickets) people it produces.

Adding Stops / Lengthening Routes
In order to extend (add stops) your routes, you must invite other Facebook friends to play "Lucky Train." When a friend because your "Lucky Train" friend, you can invite him to join a route with you by using the "Create a Route" option. The more stops you have, the longer the route and the more coins and XP everyone on the route gets! Once placed, stops cannot be rearranged. Also, once a friend accepts an invitation to your route, he cannot remove himself from it.

What if a friend never accepts the route request?
While it doesn't prevent the train from traveling on your new route, having "Pending" friends can slow down your route's expansion. Try sending to people who you KNOW will respond and accept the route request. Having "Pending" friends on your route prevents you from expanding it. Remove the "Pending" friends before attempting an expansion.

Deleting a Train
"Lucky Train" allows you to have 10 user-created routes going at the same time. In order to delete a train route, you must allow the train to make one full round-trip route before deleting it.

Sending Partially Full Trains
If a train arrives at your depot and you don't have enough passengers to fill it, you can still send the train on its way. Book as many passengers as you can, and then send it on its route. While you won't get the full money/XP potential out of the train, it can work in a pinch, especially if you need the coins or are really close to leveling up.

Line up your passengers
If you're waiting for a train to arrive at your depot, pre-board your passengers by clicking on the building with a passenger icon. The passenger gets in line at the station, ready to board the train. This also frees up the building so that it can produce more passengers. This detail is especially important when you upgrade trains to carry more passengers. Always try to fill your trains to capacity!
