Lucy Southworth, Larry Page Getting Hitched

Love and money, and plenty of it, as Google co-founder Larry Page and his fiance, Lucinda Southworth, are due to wed December 8, 2007. The wedding details of the billionaire Page have been eagerly anticipated and now the scoop, if not personal secrets, about the bride-to-be.

So what does it take to grab the heart of one of the most eligible and wealthy bachelors on the planet?

Apparently, über-brains and girl-next-door looks work for starters.

So who is Lucy Southworth

Notably, she is a private person. Comparatively little personal information about Stockworth is published on the Internet, albeit this is changing hourly, now. Some photos exist, a few rumors and, not surprisingly, even a few political speculations.

As for the facts, a search of her academic pursuits sheds some light on this soon to be billionaire.

According to the Standford University Web site, Southworth matriculated there as a doctoral student in 2003, and is pursuing a degree in biomedical informatics (BMI). While attending Standford, she has participated in various BMI related academic boards.

As recently as June 2007, she held an astute presentation at a National Library of Medicine (NLM) Conference as lead author of "Effects of Aging on Mouse Transcriptional Networks."

Southworth also holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters degree from Oxford University.

Page, 34, and Southworth, 27, (unconfirmed) were classmates in 1998, but began dating later in 2005-06, as first reported by the New York Post in February, 2006.

According to an African-based Web site, Lucy served as Alumni at the International School of Tanganyika, from 1989 to 1993, designed for former students. A Carry Southworth and McClain Southworth is also listed and of unconfirmed relation. Media reports indicate Southworth has continued philanthropic efforts in Africa since. She can also be seen as listed sponsor of the Aids African Awareness Campaign, on Naomba.com.

The Page-Southworth Wedding

Vallewag speculated earlier in the month that the couple will marry on "Necker Island, the Caribbean hideaway owned by Virgin Group billionaire Richard Branson" according to Reuters. Though the date was incorrect, they have reaffirmed this location.

In October, a Fortune Magazine blog containing talk of details and speculation on an upcoming wedding for Page was promptly removed. The wedding details of Larry Page and Lucy Southworth have remained mostly secret since.

What the Future Holds for their Marriage

It appears we will learn more about Lucy Southworth, as the media hounds will not let go anytime soon. It is safe to say, Southworth is her own person, works hard and maintains her own goals and dreams. Will the marriage last? They hold the ingredients for a long and happy marriage, and then some.
