Lullaby

Sue Gibson
Hush children, it's late
The shadows are long.
Lay your head on your pillow
And I'll sing you a song.

Of soft summer breezes
That slip through the trees
To make sweet peaceful sighs
With each rustle of leaves.

I'll sing of the ocean,
How it washes the sand.
And sweeps it all clean
With invisible hand.

I'll sing for you verses
Of flowers and birds.
They'll be the sweetest
You've ever heard.

Now you go to sleep
Till morning is light.
Sweet dreams, sweet dreams
I love you, good night.
