After my weary day,
I retreat to my haven.
I close the blinds,
and lock the door,
while shedding my clothes
and the stresses that bind me.
Soothing music,
and the lumination
that only candles can bring,
are the familiar bedfellows
that have
continuously comforted my soul
throughout the passing of time.
And as I lie here,
clothed only by my vulnerabilities,
I slowly drift to sleep,
and hope that the sun
will be shining above me,
whilst I agree
to face the challenges
that lie ahead of me,
tomorrow.
This poem is an excerpt from my second published book, "sunburst".
