"Luna Salerno"

The band is listed under Latin Rock and the songs are sung in English, Spanish, and Italian; but after hearing the opening track "Ciao Bella Signorina" on "Luna Salerno" by Rico Monaco and Sol sons my first impression was an Italian Carlos Santana. IT is one of those songs that sticks in your head haunting you until you play it again and then the process just repeats itself. After an opening like that it's hard to imagine things getting any better; but the entire album is one that will constantly be on the playlist. Although short by most standards "Luna Salerno" is an album where yu cannot sit still while playing it.

Rico Monaco and Sol Sons is based on Orlando but they have roots in Florida, New York, Puerto Rico, and Italy; all of which combines to give the band its own sound. The seven piece band, which can expand to 17 for live shows, has shared the stage with notables like Sammy Hagar, Tito Puente, Smashmouth, The Wailer, Jon Secada, Sly and the Family Stone, and Loverboy.

"Luna Salerno" is the band's third album. It contains five song, three bonus tracks including a second "Ciao Bella Signorina" and for those with a computer a short chat from Rico Monaco.

Rico Monaco and Sol Sons have fans in Europe as well as North and South America. With a sound to rival the master Carlos Santana it's no wonder. Rico and his band mates have flown under the radar long enough it's time to shine in the limelight!
