Lunar Anomaly and the Mutant Spider

Darla M. Beck
I saw a lunar anomaly last night,
the strangest sight I've ever seen.
It was viewed throughout the world,
more scary than ghosts on Halloween.

I felt too frightened to go to sleep,
wondering what would happen next.
I grabbed my cell phone off the desk,
sent my best friend a short text.

From out of the corner of my eye,
I saw movement on the floor.
A huge spider was slowly crawling,
blocking my path to the open door.

I screamed as loud as I could,
for help I was desperately needing.
Right before my astonished eyes,
that huge spider started feeding.

In its mouth was a tiny mouse,
that's how big the spider had grown.
I felt my stomach start to churn,
when I heard the snap of bone.

The lunar anomaly must have caused,
the spider to grow larger that night.
For it had become a scary mutant,
and was the most terrifying sight.

Can I borrow the spider - he may be able to fix my rat problem.
