Lunch Restaurants Near Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina

Whether you are an urban employee, a local visiting Falls Park or a passing tourist in need of a quick bite after enjoying Reedy River Falls, Greenville, South Carolina has plenty of great, nearby lunch restaurants ranging from unique, locally owned eateries to national brand name restaurants. A few of my personal go-to restaurants for lunch at Falls Park in Greenville are Saffron's Sidewalk Cafe, Mellow Mushroom, Overlook Grill and Subway.

Saffron's Sidewalk Cafe

Without a doubt, Saffron's Sidewalk Cafe is my favorite lunch destination in Greenville. From the hip, lively and courteous staff to the very cool wall art celebrating The Beatles to the menu itself, this is a great place to take somebody who appreciates good food. A couple of my favorite menu items are the Black and Blue Salad with blackened tenderloin and blue cheese and the Treehugger Portabella Sandwich. Located in the back of West End Market at the corner of South Main Street and Augusta Street. Cafe hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm Saturday and 10 am to 3 pm Sunday.

Mellow Mushroom

Who says that you can't find a decent Philly cheesesteak in Greenville? The Mellow Mushroom on Main Street at West End Market offers a quick, cholesterol-laden dose of greasy joy in a laid back atmosphere. There's healthy fare available as well, such as the Tempeh Hoagie. This is a nice spot for a beer at the end of day's work or fun as well. Hours are from 11 am to 10 pm, Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 12 midnight Friday and Saturday and 1 pm to 9 pm Sunday. There is plenty of off street parking available behind the building.

Overlook Grill

With the best view in town, the Overlook Grill is a great way to take in Reedy River Falls while enjoying a good lunch. Based on the location of the restaurant and the conservatively dressed wait staff, I had assumed that food would be highly priced. Instead, Overlook Grill offers a decent, moderately priced meal with patio dining that affords a direct overlook view of Reedy River Falls. Overlook Grill is located at the top of the stairs leading out of Greenville's Falls Park, directly aside Liberty Bridge.

Subway

A coworker of mine once referred to settling for lunch at Subway as a form of surrendering to mediocrity, but sometimes you just want an honest, simple sandwich that will be forgotten as quietly as it will be digested. Located at the corner of South Main Street and Camperdown Way just outside of Falls Park, this Subway is open 10 am to 9 pm Monday to Wednesday, 10 am to 10 pm Thursday to Saturday and 11 am to 9 pm Sunday.
