Luscious Eyes with N.Y.C. Maximum Boost Volumizing Mascara

Susan Slade
My mascaras keep increasing all the time, and the one I have recently been trying is N.Y.C. Maximum Boost Volumizing Mascara.

I bought it in the Dollar Tree store, mainly for the price, but also because it looks different, and attractive.

After taking it out of the packaging, I had a mascara tube, that is narrow at the left end, fatter in the middle, and then small to the right, where the wand is. Over the wand area is a plastic see through cap. You just pull it off, where the silver colored band is. You can either put it back over the mascara, or not use it. The only reason I can think of having this cap, is that is makes it look more attractive, but for practical reasons, mine won't be going on again.

The mascara has a short barrel, and the wand stem is only about the same length, as the wand. The color I have is 'blackest black', #825, and it also comes in 'black', #826.

My test of this product was to use one of my Estee Lauder mascaras on my left eyelashes, and then use the N.Y.C. mascara on the right one. I did my left eye first, and then took the wand out of the mascara.

I opened my eye, and took the brush from the roots, to the tip of my lashes. I went over the top and bottom ones a couple of times, the same as the Estee Lauder product.

I looked in the mirror, and immediately I could see that it was a darker color black. Then I put my glasses on, and opened my eyes wide. The right eyelashes had more thickness than the left one. Length wise, I couldn't see any difference.

This was only a test, and I wasn't going out, so I didn't go over the left eye again.

The following day I used the N.Y.C. mascara, and went about all my daily activities. It stayed really well, and didn't smudge, or flake. I even rubbed my lower eyelashes gently, and it still didn't smudge.

What N.Y.C. say about their mascara:

"Build each lash from root to tip for maximum volume ... silicone resin "wraps" lashes for visible thickness on contact. Pro-Vitamin B moisturizes and nourishes lashes for silky smooth texture. Shorter applicator rod delivers."

I really like this mascara, and can't fault it. It certainly compares to higher end mascaras, and I would have still been happy, if I had paid more than just $1 for it.

I should probably wear more makeup than I do. I dab a quick brush of mascara and run out the door! cheers :)
