Luscious Lady: How to Get Kissable Lips with Longer Lasting Coverage

Scraping "gunk" off your lips with a fingernail.

Reapplying lip gloss or balm repeatedly, only to find that your lips are still dry.

Reapplying lipstick repeatedly, only to find that it rubs off within as little as an hour... even though it claims to have long lasting coverage.

Do these situations sound familiar to you? If they do, you're not alone - many women struggle with these lip problems on a daily basis. There are high end shelf products designed to target these problems, but not many women can afford to drop down the cash that is required to purchase these products. They may assume that there's no hope otherwise.

There is.

Those high end shelf products do nothing more but replicate tricks that makeup artists have used for years to solve these very same issues. These tricks are inexpensive to use and just as effective as high end product offerings. The cosmetic companies don't want you to know about them, but I'm going to reveal them to you in this short and simple article.

First of all, we will need to gather together our supplies.

We will need:
- a warm, damp washcloth
- your choice of lipstick
- liquid foundation or concealer
- a rich, deep moisturizing cream, lotion, or oil - some examples are cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, and olive oil
- a natural fiber facial scrub - I personally prefer Queen Helene Oatmeal and Honey facial scrub (which can be obtained at many drugstores for less than $3)

Squeeze a small amount of facial scrub on to your index finger and massage it on to your lips. This will remove dead skin cells, smooth your lips, and encourage new cell growth. After about 30 seconds, or until you have gotten all the dead skin cells and "gunk" you're going to get, wipe it off with a damp washcloth. Now apply your lotion, cream, or oil to your lips and let it set for 15 minutes. This will not only moisturize the surface of your lips but penetrate them as well to bring long lasting moisture and softness. Next, squeeze a small amount of foundation or concealer on to your index finger and dab it on to your lips. Wipe your finger with the washcloth to remove the leftover foundation or concealer. Now work on blending what you put on your lips. You will want just enough to give a slight flesh colored tone to your lips, but not so much that it covers up the skin tone of your lips completely. This will help "set" your lipstick so that it will stay put longer than it normally would. Wait about five minutes and then apply your lipstick.

You should see smoother, softer lips and longer lipstick coverage just through trying this routine once. Regular usage will refine your initial results.

Remember, your lips consist of skin, just like the rest of your body. And just like the rest of your skin, the skin on your lips needs to be regularly exfoliated and moisturized. It also needs to be protected - so don't forget to use a lip balm or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or higher.

Enjoy your beautiful, luscious lips!

  • lip "gunk" is not only unattractive but annoying as well
  • "long lasting" lipsticks rarely live up to their claims of lasting all day
  • you can moisturize your lips and still have cracked, dry skin
You don't have to use high end shelf products to get beautiful, kissable lips - experts have known inexpensive techniques to attain smooth, soft lips for years.
