COLOR
Honey Trap applies completely colorless and matte. It does not change the color of your lips like some other balms and also does not turn white when you apply hundreds of layers. In the pot, it is a light yellow color, but that certainly does not show up on the lips. This is strictly for moisturizing and maybe a nice scent.
SCENT
I am actually not crazy about the scent as it kind of repulses me, but for those that like raw honey, this definitely smells like that. The smell is pretty strong when you first apply it, but it does cool down with time, later hinting to the slight smell of honey.
FORMULA
When you first get some of this, it is very hard in the pot. I almost gave up trying to use it. With time, it gets softer and easier to put on. Once it is on your lips, it is like heaven in a little metal pot. It immediately melts and conditions, making the lips super smooth, not chapped, and hydrated. Like the Korres Lip Butter, with time, this really does improve how chapped the lips are. I really like how easy it is to use. It is also not very thick lip Vaseline or thing like a watery gloss- it is the perfect consistency, almost a little thicker than a lip butter.
FUNCTIONALITY
For long-term lip improvements, this is a great product. While it does have to be applied with the fingers, it is one use a day, therefore, making it a breeze to put on. The pot has a wide lip and is easy to use, a great size for travel.
PACKAGING
Honey Trap comes in a little, round, metal pot with a pink sticker on top and on bottom. It is very LUSH looking and actually, very durable. I really like the design of the pot because even as a larger and larger dip forms, the brim is so wide getting the product is never a problem. It is also shorter than most lip pot products, contributing to the ease of getting the last bit of product out.
PRICE
Honey Trap and all other LUSH lip balms are $6.95 for .3 oz. Really not a bad deal because of how moisturizing these are. I love putting it on before I go to bed so that I wake up with moisturized, perfect lips.
FINAL OPINIONS
While I did not plan on getting this lip balm, it was a great surprise. I cannot believe how much better my lips are and how good they feel after I put this on. I really adore these LUSH balms as they are somewhat overlooked, but a great treat once you try them. They may not be as cute or exciting as the other LUSH products, but they really are heaven in a pot.
