Luvs Diapers - Not a Good Buy

Allison
When buying diapers for your child, your first thought is to get the best diapers on the market. When you are standing in front of the diaper aisle comparing prices of all the diapers, your second thought is to get the cheapest brand. Diapers are not cheap, but when you think about what they do (or are supposed to do) you would pay as much as possible. Luvs diapers are not worth what they are selling for.

There are many diaper brands out there claiming to be wonderful, but most just don't hold up to the abuse that toddlers put them through. Huggies and Pampers are the most popular brands with Luvs coming in third place. As far as performance, reliability, comfort and protection goes, I use Pampers. I have used Pampers on my kids since day one and have not had one problem with them. I was given Huggies at the baby showers and used them, but even they did not compare to the quality of the Pampers.

Just recently I made a trip to the store and forgot to buy diapers. I only had three left at home and did not want to go back to the store. I live way out in the country and the closest store with diapers is a grocery store. I know the prices are higher there for everything and diapers are no exception. The Pampers were over double the price of the Luvs at this store. There were only small packages available to I went ahead and got the Luvs to last until the next week. They looked okay when I took one out of the package although the inside didn't look near as soft as the Pampers. My daughter didn't seem to notice any differences either. It wasn't until she had been wearing one of the Luvs diapers for about two hours that I noticed anything was wrong. When I picked her up her pants were wet. The diaper had leaked after only two hours! I thought maybe it was the way she was sitting while she was playing, so I put her in another Luvs diaper before bed. The next morning she was soaked. She had never been wet at all using Pampers, but with the Luvs her pajamas were really wet.

Another thing about the Luvs is my daughter started to get red in the diaper area, probably because the diapers leaked so much. The material did not pull the moisture away from her, it left her bottom wet. I made a trip to the store to get a big package of Pampers and will never buy Luvs again.

I have a 10 month ols son and the only diapers that don NOT leak on him are LUVS!! The Pampers "Baby Dry" do not leak either but they are almost exactly like Luvs except they cost more. Maybe it is a girl/boy thing. I have a friend with a girl that says Luvs leak and I have a friend with a 15 month old boy who swears by Luvs like me.

With my son every time I used Pampers or Huggies they would leak and at night he will be soaked and I had to change the sheets on his crib daily. I used Huggies until my son was 8 months and in order for the diapers not to leak at night I had to buy either a larger size or overnight diapers, and I ended up wasting more money. The only diaper that does not leak is Luvs and now he uses the same size all times.

We have three kids that have all grown up with Luvs and have never had a problem. We tried all the rest of the more expensive brands but always came back to the Luvs. We have saved well over a thousand dollars over the years by using Luvs.
