The national airline is called the Luxair Airlines. It is not very famous, and not one of those that a traveler would opt for. The Luxair Airlines caters to a special target market: the business travelers. It's main aim is to provide flights within Luxembourg, and from the various business centers in Europe. For that matter, their network is quite widespread. However, they do not offer frequent flights. This is due to the low traveler rate in that area.
The Luxair Airlines also offers a few holiday locations, but these are generally aimed towards the local residents. They are basically providing a simple, flawless undergoing in their service. The check-in is fast most of the time, because there is little or no queuing, especially since they are regional, and do not have many international flights. Having no airline partners, the Luxair Airlines handle check-in themselves, making it more effective with only one team working.
The Luxair Airlines offer a Fokker 50 turboprop , a brand new Embraer RJ 145, and a new Boeing 737 planes. The Planes are furnished by leather seats which give more space, and are designed to accommodate people of different sizes. The seats are large and comfortable compared to the normal seats in airways. They look smart too. The food served is fresh and hot. The hot however, is not the microwaved hot. It has good taste and look.
The Luxair Airlines has last minute discounts on their website, but these are generally availed, and provided to the local residents as mentioned earlier, it does not fly many international flights. Thus, I would say that the steep price might be one of the downfalls of the Luxair Airlines.
Mentioning all of this does not mean that I am blindfolded fool accepting all that Luxair Airlines has to offer like some sort of a gift sent by God. The fact that it is more of a regional airline service, and that it operates for the local clients primarily, cannot be ignored. However, this is no reason not to travel with them, it if given chance. The Luxair Airlines does not have any frequent flyer programs, but even then I will recommend it especially for those who won't mind paying a bit more, to have a more than average traveling experience at a short flight.
