One of the greatest things about living in Scottsdale is the fact that it is possible to live in close proximity to the native desert with its spectacular scenery and unique fauna and flora, yet be within minutes of urban conveniences. Recently, Sereno Canyon, a community in the McDowell mountain foothills, was recently opened for development, and will eventually have 122 custom home sites. The developers have taken great care to make sure that hiking trails and open spaces have been preserved so that each property enjoys an unobstructed view and access to the scenic wonders of the Arizona desert. In addition, the community is surrounded by mountains and federally-protected lands - so Sereno Canyon will be unaffected by the urban growth.
Of course, one of the great things about Scottsdale real estate is golf. The Scottsdale-Phoenix area is home to no fewer than fifty major, professional-level golf courses and numerous smaller facilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfer with years of pro-level experience or a devoted amateur who enjoys hitting the back nine occasionally, golf aficionados will find what they're looking for at the numerous Scottsdale condos located right next to the greens.
Gourmands will not be disappointed either; Scottsdale proper boasts seven five-star restaurants, six of which feature cuisine inspired by local Southwestern traditions that include Spanish, Mexican and local Indian cultural influences (almost nowhere else will the discriminating diner have the opportunity to sample unusual dishes such as sugar-and-chile cured duck, salad made from the nopales cactus, or a chocolate tamale. The seventh is a Japanese establishment recently rated as "an absolute can't miss" and "one of the best dining experiences in city" by patrons.
Speaking of culture, those coming to Scottsdale will find an abundance of art galleries in the city's famed Art District. Shopkeepers located in the Old Town area offer a wide variety of Western, Hispanic and Native American arts and crafts. Every Thursday between 7 and 9 in the evening, the community hosts the Scottsdale ArtWalk, a local tradition now in its 30th year. Every week, members of the Scottsdale Gallery Association host special, unique exhibits throughout the Art District.
Real estate investors seeking property for development or the construction of a luxury Scottsdale, Arizona condo community will find that the citie's numerous cultural and recreational amenities can be an excellent selling point for those looking for a retirement home, a vacation getaway, or even a seasonal time-share.
