Luxury Dominican Republic Resorts that Are All-Inclusive
Hotels Are Pulling Out All the Stops for Elegant Travel
Locations
Punta Cana is the place where you will find the most luxury all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic. The stunning beaches of this area where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet are hard to top. The exception to this rule is Casa de Campo, featured as an editor's pick by "Conde Naste Traveler's" Concierge.com. This 7,000 acre resort is on the southeast coast in La Romana, and boasts ocean front villas with private pools, maid and valet service. The all-inclusive plan is optional at Casa de Campo.
Royal Treatment
The Leading Hotels of the World singled out the all-inclusive Paradisus Palma Real as its example of luxury in Punta Cana. This resort takes it one step further with their Royal Service. A personal butler is available to you throughout your stay so you never have to do without a piƱa colada while you are lounging in a Bali bed on the private beach. Royal Service guests also get extravagances like a pillow menu, private check-in, complimentary internet and an evening cocktail hour only available for guests on the plan.
Accommodations
The Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro, also in Punta Cana, received the 2010 Apple Vacation's Crystal Award for Best Staff and Service in the Caribbean. It is an adults-only luxury all-inclusive resort. It lives up to that reputation by offering only suites, 13 of which are oceanfront. Suites include marble bathrooms with dual vanities and 24-hour room service. You can also find an assortment of suites at Paradisus Palma Real, many with whirlpools and ocean views off the balcony or terrace for a relaxing vacation.
Dining & Nightlife
For dining on a luxury vacation, It's hard to run out of options at Casa de Campo, which has more than 20 restaurants and 15 nightspots. Paradisus comes close with a dozen different dining options from Asian Fusion to Mediterranean Cuisine. Live entertainment is also available in two clubs, a piano bar and a casino. Entertainment at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro includes a music bar that's a replica of a Spanish galleon you can enjoy after dinner in any of four a la carte restaurants. You can also dine at the Iberostar Bavaro Golf & Spa for a change.
Considerations
Playa Dorada, one of the first vacation destinations in the Dominican Republic is seeing a resurgence of remodeling, according to Fodor's. Facelifts may turn some of the older properties into all-inclusive luxury. Playa Uvero Alto, an area within the Punta Cana region to the north of the more populated Bavaro, is also emerging as a resort area and welcoming new properties.
