So, just what makes the Luxury MicroPlush Snuggie different from a regular Snuggie? I've had a chance to compare the two products, and I can tell you there is a big difference! The first is the material that the Snuggies are made from. The regular Snuggie is very thin--it almost feels like it is made out of felt that you could buy in a craft store. The Luxury MicroPlush Snuggie is made out of a much thicker and softer material. If you have a super soft fleece blanket at home, you already know what this feels like.
But the differences between the two Snuggies don't stop there. The regular Snuggie doesn't have any pockets, but the Luxury MicroPlush Snuggie has two pockets just at the waist level. These pockets are perfect for holding things like a remote control, pen, pack of cigarettes, or anything else you might want to keep close at hand. The Luxury MicroPlush Snuggie also has a fun Snuggie logo tag sewn onto the right sleeve, which is a feature that I didn't notice when I saw the regular Snuggie at a friend's house. The luxury version of the product also seems to just be made better, as it looked like it had much better stitching and craftsmanship when I compared the two.
In the end, I liked the so-called "luxury Snuggie" (or "designer Snuggie") much more than the regular Snuggie, and I definitely think it is worth the extra money to "upgrade" to the better sleeved blanket choice. The regular Snuggie is usually sold for around $18, and the Luxury MicroPlush version usually sells for about $10 or $11 more than that. Since a blanket is something that you'll likely keep and use for years, I think it is worth it to pay a little extra up-front to get a product you'll enjoy much more over the long run. Luxury MicroPlush Snuggies are available at stores nationwide and at internet retailers like Amazon.com, so you should be able to find one if you look for it.
