Address Biofilms with Natural Herbs and Supplements

With the discovery that biofilms may play an integral part in the proliferation of Lyme Disease and tick illness, here are some suggestions to contribute to your anti-Lyme protocol. (Click on Page 2 to continue.)

Basic Anti-Biofilm Approach Using Herbs and Supplements:
1. Systemic (Proteolytic and mucolytic) enzymes
(degrades sugars, proteins, and mucous).
2. Fulvic acid or other metal chelators (chelates minerals and metals in biofilm).
3. Disodium EDTA (chelates minerals in biofilm and calcium shells from nanoparticles).
4. Lactoferrin (binds to iron, depriving biofilm of essential iron).
5. cis-2-decenoic acid , contained in Royal Jelly (acts as a dispersant to dissolve protein, nucleic acids, polysaccharides. )
6. Targeted and broad spectrum Antimicrobials that cross the blood/brain barrier (address pathogens).
7. Bile stimulants and resins (assist to release and bind neurotoxins that find their way into the biliary tree after biofilm breakdown and prevent their re-uptake by the small intestine).
8. Buffers and Alkaline pH products, like buffered Vitamin C (buffers stabilize the pH and neutralize the neurotoxic acid load that results from the die off of pathogens and the disease state. Alkaline pH products and foods create a more alkaline interior milieu).
9. Teasel Root (helps to resolve pathogen aggregation in the joints and connective tissue).
10. Curcumin / Turmeric (supports liver, breaks down mineralization, assists in musculoskeletal pain support).
11. Cell Permeability items (allows for the absorption of fat-soluble antimicrobials and other supplements, maintains integrity of cell membranes - like EFAs, MSM, phospholipids, etc.). MSM, for instance, enhances the cell wall's ability to absorb nutrients, but also appears to inhibit the "stickiness" of pathogens to surfaces.
12. Toxin Mobilizers (assist in the mobilization of minerals and toxins from biofilms).
13. Toxin Binders (bind to neurotoxins and metals to prevent them from re-circulating).
14. Fiber (sweeps the colon to absorb toxins and metals and assist in elimination; supports colonization of healthy microflora).
15. Detergents (some herbs have a detergent action) to disrupt the outer cell membrane of the spirochete. (additional detergent items will be added to our protocols asap.) Grapefruit seed extract appears to have a detergent action.
16. MSM - MSM acts to prevent the adhesion of biofilms to surfaces as well as make cell membranes more permeable.

Additions:
1. Herxheimer Support products can be added if you are experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of die off.
2. Diet rich in alkaline foods and supplements (prevents an acidic milieu, (including Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, Malic Acid, Buffered C, Alfalfa, green drinks, etc.).
3. Anti-Inflammatory items (mitigates the damage to tissues, lowers cytokine storm Herx. reaction from die-off).
4. Immune Support items (modulates immune response and encourage the activity of NK cells).
5. Probiotics
6. Avoid sugar in the diet, as glucose (and mannose) appear to be nutrients for spirochetes.
