Maybe it was her good looks, maybe the accent but Lynn Redgrave was a talented actress that got your attention and kept it until she was through with you. The talented actress past away Sunday evening as reported by her publicist, Rick Miramontez. Her three children Ben, Pema and Annabel were by her side.

Ms. Redgrave was best known for her portrayal of the lead character in Georgy Girl. Along with James Mason and Alan Bates Georgy Girl was a very popular movie and catapulted Ms. Redgrave to fame as a sassy lass who is rescued by a widower in this a modern day Cinderella story. Ms Redgrave received an Oscar nomination for her role, but never quite achieved that level of success again. Although a good actress that was in demand she seemed to migrate towards the stage pulling her into obscurity in the world of film.

Ms. Redgrave was born in 1943 and studied at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. An actress on stage as well as the big screen Ms. Redgrave is the sister of Vanessa Redgrave also a renowned actress in her own right.

But by age 50 Lynn was becoming known for her weight problems as well as her acting which was going no where. She had publically acknowledged her bulimic problems as well as being a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. Very out-spoken about her life and family she set upon herself to write a play to better know and understand her father. Even though she lived in the same house she knew little of the recluse little man who was a writer of plays.

She had publically acknowledged her breast cancer and looked at herself as a cancer survivor for a few years after her radical mastectomy in 2002. She was reported to be writing a book entitled Journal: A Mother and Daughter's Recovery from Breast Cancer. It reportedly included photos of her daughter Annabel and text written by Lynn.

In 2009 her play Nightingale touched upon her health, her life, her grandmother and her divorce of actor John Clark after 32 years of marriage. John had fathered a child with his son Benjamin's future wife.

Lynn is survived by her sister Vanessa, six grand children as well as four nieces and nephews.

A private funeral will be held later this week.
