MAC Eye Kohl in Foxy Lady

Layla A.
I am one of those people that is so obsessed with music, that I will buy anything in makeup that has to do with a favorite band/song. Being a classic rock person, I jumped at the chance to swap for Foxy Lady Eye Kohl- Jimi is my all-time favorite and we even share the same date of birth (November, 27th). Foxy Lady was a nice surprise, and a color you do not see too often in eyeliner.

COLOR

Foxy Lady is a deep, sexy red-brown, more red than brown, is actually kind of hard to use. I use reddish eyeliners on my water line to make me look like I have been crying, so I use this all the time. But, unless you like using MAC Eye Kohls as a shadow base, you may have a bit of difficulty using this. It automatically reminds me of November and fall when I see it, and would be a great pop of color in an otherwise neutral look.

FORMULA

While my favorite is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On pencils, MAC Eye Kohls are definitely a close second. Foxy Lady is no exception. When you first take the cap off, it is a little hard and hard to work with- I recommend warming it on your hand first. However, once it is warmed, it goes on creamy nice. Foxy Lady does not smudge too badly, but if it is rubbed at, it will fade. However, I'd rather have missing eyeliner than red raccoon eyes like some eyeliners create. If you do not rub your eyes (you shouldn't anyway), these will last near all day, all though they will fade on the water line by the end.

FUNCTIONALITY

As I have said before, pencil liners are my favorite because they are portable and extremely clean for a makeup item. This is a really great fall color, so I would see a lot of use in the fall months, or for those of you who like to stay on the neutral spectrum without being "boring".

PACKAGING

Foxy Lady is packaged like any other Eye Kohl out there- pencil with a plastic cap. You do need to sharpen these, but they are not as delicate as their Urban Decay competitors, so it is slightly easier. MAC's packaging is always sleek and these are exceptionally portable.

PRICE

Foxy Lady is no longer available anymore as it is discontinued, but all other Eye Kohls retail for $14.50 wherever MAC cosmetics are sold.

FINAL OPINIONS

Would I purchase this if I had the chance? Yes. While I prefer the Urban Decay formula, they do not have a color like this. And, Foxy Lady is one of the better made Eye Kohls, formula wise. If you are a lover of Classic Rock or like deep, sultry eyeliner, I'm sure you could find this on eBay or some other site on the internet. Foxy lady is definitely foxy, but also functional.
