COLOR
Fab Orchid/Dash Lily has a deep, dark, intense purple (Fab Orchid) and a medium-lavender-glittery shade (Dash Lily). For anyone that loves purple as much as I do, this is a must have. The Fab Orchid side is great on the waterline or as the upper lash line eyeliner while Dash Lily is great as a shadow, or on the lower lash line, since it cannot be used on the waterline (it has chunky glitter).
FORMULA
Dash Lily definitely has chunky glitter, however, it glides on very smooth. Fab Orchid is creamy, dark and intense. While the color is great and the staying power is awesome, these will smudge and leave like crazy! They will not last if you touch it or if your rub your eyes. Beware! However, these do go on very nicely, especially for having glitter.
FUNCTIONALITY
I love the idea of complementing eyeliner colors! It is great for a rushed morning and these really do complement each other very well. With the awesome color and creamy texture, I think these are very functional. These colors could be great for spring or played up for fall. I have used it for both!
PACKAGING
These also have the classic MAC packaging, however, it is double sided with a cap on each end. This is super portable for in the purse, but the lids have come off one me while it was in my purse. This can be dangerous thing with something as creamy as these or a very expensive bag.
PRICE
This is no longer available at MAC, but it is available at eBay and a few other sites. You pay for one color but you get two- genius.
FINAL OPINIONS
I am, overall, very happy with this duo. The colors go so well together and can be used in so many different ways at so many different times. The Heatherette collection also featured a few others, so if purple isn't your thing, I am sure you could find one you like. I really, really, really love this duo-edge pencil as it mixes three of my favorite things: purple, eyeliner, and the Heatherette collection.
