COLOR
Smooth Harmony is a matte bronze colored beauty powder. There is no visible shimmer, so that is great for the natural this-is-my-real-skin kind of look. I really am super pale, but just a little bit of this makes me look like I have been tanning all summer! I also love taking some of this on my Urban Decay big Buddha Brush and dusting it on my arms for summer tank tops. This really does help me achieve the unreachable look of naturally tanned skin. It is just a light coffee-caramel color, and does not show up orange on me at all.
FORMULA
Since this is an iridescent pressed powder, the formula is very lightweight and not cloying. It is also not a s pigmented as a normal powder or blush, so you have to try really hard to put too much on. Blending this one into the hairline and such is a bit of a challenge and may take some time to master, but overall easy once accomplished. With this powder, it really feels like nothing is on your face. I really like that because it just makes my skin feel nicer and smoother and healthier.
FUNCTIONALITY
Because of the lower pigmentation and sheer wash of color, this is great for year-round. You can throw on a dab in the winter to add some life to your face, or add extra in the summer for that super tan look. It is also a great, sturdy MAC compact with no plastic window, much like their Studio Fix Powder.
PACKAGING
As I mentioned before, this is in a MAC Studio Fix compact, which makes it great for traveling and almost no chance of cracking, like some other compacts with windows have done. It is cool, sleek, and features a sizable mirror.
PRICE
Smooth Harmony retailed at MAC for $22 at 8 grams, which is a very good deal, but is no longer available. There is another color (Belightful) that is still available, but I am sure you could find one of these online for a good deal. It is a shame that MAC discontinues products like this, because I really enjoy them and find them so versatile.
FINAL OPINIONS
If you can find this, this is a really good, light bronzing, contouring, setting, etc. powder and I would highly recommend it to fairer skin tones, as it is way lighter than the typical bronzing powder. I also love that this is matte because it increases the illusion that I am naturally tanned. Overall, I really like this compact and would definitely repurchase.
