MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Lilacky
COLOR
Lilacky seems like it would be gorgeous. It is very reminiscent of Ola Viola! Eye Kohl on the end, but when swatched, it shows up a grey-sheer. You have to pack on about ten coats if you want the true color, and by then, it looks like eyeshadow- not eyeliner.
FORMULA
This is creamy and glides on, but this particular color is extremely sheer. It feels like you are just pushing the product around on your eyelid. I guess it could be a good base, but to truly achieve that color, you'll have to use about half of the pencil. So, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad. But I cannot convey how sheer this goes on. I really do like the true color, but with that many coats, it feels and looks like an eyeshadow. If it wasn't sheer going on, this would be just as good as any other MAC eyeliner. But it is. This liner also will not smudge. It would be near perfect if it showed up on me. L
FUNCTIONALITY
Since you have to use so much, it isn't functional. You will use it very quickly and not get much use. It is a good spring color when applied opaque, but could probably not be used the rest of the year. It is just as portable as any other MAC pencil, but when you are using that many layers, it becomes dysfunctional.
PACKAGING
This is in the same MAC pencil form as any of their other eyeliners, and has the easy to use black cap.
PRICE
Lilacky is no longer available at MAC, but you can probably find it floating around on the internet somewhere. All of Powerpoint Eye Pencils retail for $14.50 at MAC.
FINAL OPINIONS
Maybe I am being too hard on this, but when you are used to the intense pop of Urban Decay eyeliner, anything less seems horrible. This is a stellar formula if the color weren't so sheer, but I would not repurchase it- they have plenty of other colors that are better pigmented.
