Retired WWE Star Macho Man Randy Savage Killed In Car Accident

Florida Highway Patrol told celebrity news site TMZ Friday morning that Macho Man Randy Savage (whose given name was Randall Mario Poffo) died when his 2009 Jeep Wrangler drove "through oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tree." Savage also drove over a concrete median just before hitting the tree. Though unclear at first, it has now been reported by People Magazine and TMZ that, as we suspected, the Macho Man had a heart attack while driving.

Macho Man Randy Savage, 58, was taken to Largo Medical Center where he died soon after the accident. Retired wrestler Randy Savage had just celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary with his new wife Lynn, who he married in the spring of 2010. Reports say Lynn was riding in the passenger seat of the Jeep when Savage lost control and crashed.

Lynn suffered what are described as only "minor injuries", however that is obviously only in regards to her physical state. Emotionally, this is likely one of the worst days of her life, and we doubt the true toll of this incident on her can be described with a word such as "minor". Our heart goes out to her and all those who love Macho Man Randy Savage, dead at 58.
