Men: Dress up your everyday suit by adding a vest underneath your jacket. One classic look is to pair a three-piece gray suit with blue shirt and navy tie. Finish off the outfit by adding a white pocket square to the jacket.
For weekend or casual wear, pair a suit jacket and dress shirt with a pair of chino slacks. Since you're going more casual, swap out the vest for a sweater during colder months. You can also change out your jacket for a button down cardigan for an afternoon lunch or casual Friday look.
Contrast your dress shirts by adding textured ties to crisp dress shirts. For shirts that have a pattern such as micro checkers, pair it with a diagonal-stripped tie. Don't be afraid of using color either--choose dress shirts in pale greens, blues or purples and pair it with darker like-colored ties with texture or design.
Women:Mad Men style for women is all about the figure, so be sure and show it off with classic dresses and skirts. For the office, add a hint of color into an otherwise plain outfit by using feminine and frilly dress shirts in bright colors like purple, coral or creamy yellow. Offer your outfit contrast by pairing a structured skirt with a ruffled top, or dress up a pencil skirt with a cardigan and jeweled or skinny belt.
Get multi-uses out of your dresses by adding accessories to get different looks. Pair a solid color blazer with a short printed dress, and accentuate your waist by adding a belt. Keep the look edgy but work appropriate by wearing peep-toed shoes. Take your work attire into evening by wearing a solid colored sheath dress during the day, and adding animal print shoes and a statement necklace for evening. Don't forget the martini!
