Madden 12 Cover Voting Surprise- Underdog Beats Out Vick

Which Powerful Running Back Got the Spot?

The Cleveland Browns had another pedestrian season in 2010 but they won a consolation prize today as running back Peyton Hillis was the victor in the Madden 12 cover voting finals.

Hillis beat out QB Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles according to the Browns' official Twitter page in news that has been circulating across the blogosphere and Twitter world.

EA has not yet officially confirmed it but according to the Browns' site it is final and a victory for the burly running back.

Hillis surpirsed many going from a fullback to a running back with tons of production for the Browns.

His win in the Madden 12 cover voting final over Vick was a surprise to some but not to all despite Vick's much higher star status. Many figured that the votes against Vick because of his dog fighting case would have the potential to swing the vote in favor of Mr. Hillis and that could have played a role.

Vick was a serious MVP candidate last year before falling to Tom Brady in the race for that award while Hillis had a very good season but certainly not an MVP caliber one in many fans' eyes.

However, the fan vote shows that the people sometimes make interesting decisions regarding sports teams and this is no different.

The Browns desperately needed some positive buzz and this win by Hillis in the Madden 12 cover voting final can only help. Unless the Madden curse strikes again, of course.
