Madden NFL 2010 Release Date, Pre-Launch Review, and Current Price Specials

The much anticipated Madden NFL 10 is said to be released August 14th and looks to top the list of top new releases. The game is expensive at $60, but Amazon is offering special discounts on pre-orders. The website ZTGameDomain gave the game a remarkable 9.4/10 and IGN gave the new game an 8.9/10. Other than GamingTrend's 74/100 rating, most of the reviews are very positive. Upon playing the demo, I must say that I am rather impressed with the new edition of the series.

In this new edition of Madden NFL 10, members will recognize many new features. The first thing players will recognize is the new Pro-Tak feature. No longer will just a few members of the team attempt to make a tackle, now as many as nine players will force themselves into the one player. While this is of help to the defense, each defensive member is still seen as only one player, allowing offensive players to escape from becoming tackled.

In addition to the Pro-Tak feature, more realistic features, such as the reduction of the "suction effect", have been lessened. Now players will no longer become automatically drawn to the ball carrier when trying to make a tackle. Those looking to make a tackle will now need to be closer to the runner for the wrap to take place.

Unlike previous editions, the quarterbacks will no longer be able to simply roll out to the sidelines or straight back, without facing the risk of a sack. In the newest edition of Madden NFL 10, the defense will form a triangle around the quarterback. If the quarterback leaves this triangle, then he will face the chance of becoming sacked. Nonetheless, the defense will still breakdown at times, and allow the offensive linemen to rush forward and come in for the hit.

While the more realistic game play is at the forefront of the game, the graphics have made some improvements. Players will now wear Super Bowl patches on their jerseys, and the refs will at times get knocked down when interfering with the play. The stadium lighting has been much improved to give a more realistic effect, and the crowd is much louder at pressure times. Madden NFL 10 is the most realistic game in the series, and will be enjoyed by current fans of the series. The game will release this Friday, and be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, PS2, Nintendo Wii, and PC. The game will retail for $60, but buyers can purchase the game from Amazon to receive a $5 discount, and a $10 Amazon gift card when purchased by 8/17/09.
