Madonna Set to Open New Range of Fitness Centers

Madonna Goes from Music to Fashion and Now to Fitness

Pop star Madonna has teamed up with manager Guy Oseary and is set to open the first of her own chain of top of the range health clubs. Also involved in the project is the founder of the 24 Hour Fitness chain, Mark Mastrov.

The first of these is set to open on 29th November in Mexico City, and will be known as Hard Candy Fitness.

Mark Mastrov said of the venture "Madonna's touch will be everywhere", and it will be really interesting to see how this is brought into play, especially given the location of Mexico City.

The flagship Hard Candy fitness center in Mexico City has 30,000 square feet, and it's currently being prepared for the 29th November grand opening, which Madonna herself will be attending.

If all goes well, Madonna has plans to open Hard Candy sites in at least ten more cities worldwide.

Other than the high price of membership however, and the fact that these new fitness centers are geared to the rich and famous, you might wonder whether there are enough clientele to make them profitable.

The millions of lower end inhabitants in Mexico City are almost certain to not be able to afford membership, and since so many wealthy people have their own fitness centers at home, the primary focus is going to presumably be on socializing and networking while working out.

It will be interesting to see just how well the Hard Candy Fitness Centers are received and perform, once the initial experience has worn off.

I am not a big fan of her either. Still I think she has more talent than Lady Gaga.
