Mafia Wars: How to Choose the Correct Class

Elton Gahr
Mafia wars is a reasonably simple game in that it is hard to make a lot of wrong decisions. You get experience no matter what you do and all of the skills are generally useful, but choosing a class is a bit more pressing. It is one of the earliest decisions you will make and you can not change it. The three classes are fearless, which regains health faster, Mogul which earns money faster and Maniac which lets you regain energy faster.

The decision largely comes down to which way you want to play the game. If your object is to never have to wait for energy to refill then playing a maniac isn't all that useful and you may want to consider Fearless because it lets you be a wheel man in other people's mafia which can potentially earn you extra experience. If you want to have the maximum amount of energy each time you log in though then Maniac is the best choice because energy is the thing you will be waiting for more often than anything else, and if you want money then mogul is the clear choice.

If none of these seem like a huge advantage over the others to you then I suggest that you choose the maniac class. The reason for this is simply that a maniac will earn more money because he regains his energy faster and get levels quicker as well allowing you to regain your health and stamina when you do as well as giving you more points to add into the attack and defense of your character. This is the generally accepted best class.

It is also worthwhile to check to see what other members of your mafia are playing. The reason for this is that it certain jobs you can assign to your friends require specific classes and if no one in your group is using one of those you'll have a better chance of being in their top mafias which can give you some advantages.

The good news, and the bad news of choosing a character class in mafia wars is that in the end it doesn't really matter all that much. The class you have effects a few minor things in the game but mostly it is a small bonus and there are a lot of small bonuses in the game that are just as important so pick the one that sounds fun and then forget about it.
