Magazine Subscriptions for Dad

Robin Neorr
A magazine subscription for dad may be one of the best gift ideas of all time. He will think of you all year long as the magazine subscription comes to his door.

When getting a magazine subscription make sure you choose something your father has a genuine interest in. A magazine subscription is no good if dad never looks at his brand new subscription to Redbook. If dad loves to play poker, drink beer, do woodworking, or loves to watch sports here are some ideas that will ensure your gift is his favorite.

1. All About Beer - Seriously this magazine exists. In fact it has been around for the last thirty years. Men who love beer will love learning about beers from around the world, home brewing and beer collectables. Beer belly not included, but right now they are throwing in an All About Beer DVD.

2. ESPN: The Magazine - Everything dad loves about ESPN in a bi-weekly magazine filled with extra-large sports photos and behind the scene interviews that only ESPN can get.

3. Runner's World - If your dad is a runner he will love this monthly magazine. Training tips from the pros and advice you won't find anywhere else, along with a rundown of all the upcoming races.

4. Golf Digest - If your dad keeps up with golf then he needs Golf Digest. Golf Digest is known for its easy to follow instructional articles that will improve anyone's golf game.

5. Forbes - With everything from statistics to articles about top companies this magazine is a must for the CEO of your family. He may not be on the Forbes 500 list yet, but reading about those who are may be all the information he needs.

6. Bluff - It's America's largest poker magazine. A twelve month subscription will keep you up to date with everything going on in the world of poker. With tips on improving ones poker game who knows, dad might make the cover next year.

7. Woodworkers Journal - Tips and tricks for the modern woodworker. Anyone who loves woodworking will love this magazine, which includes reviews of woodworking tools and plans to build woodworking products. Chances are this will be the one magazine he will keep on hand in his workshop for years to come.

8. Food Network Magazine - For the foodie dad this magazine will offer ten issues of recipes from his favorite Food Network chefs. It will explore the relationship food has to our lives and give dad a glimpse inside the kitchen at Food Network.

Other magazines to consider for dad include: Time, Sports Illustrated, Car & Driver, Field & Stream, Motor Trends, or Men's Health.
