Sorcerers are intellectuals, really. They can be found constantly toting around orbs and books of spells. But their enemies should not be fooled, for these characters use those intellectual items as powerful weapons to strike their enemies down. In fact, the Sorcerer has quite an array of long range devastating attacks and quite an array of area effects. Enemies can be put to sleep, rooted, or perhaps morphed so that they cannot come close to this character or get close to his group of allies.
The downside to the Sorcerer is his lack of physical skills. He isn't fast or stealthy and his sword-wielding skills are weak. He is also not armored except with cloth robes. Health and Defense areextremely low, therefore. Like the Ranger, and even more so than that character, Sorcerers have to rely on their great power of being able to strike from a distance and remain out of reach of the enemy even as they inflict damage.
Sorcerers don't have a lot of chain-linked skill sets, but their Attack spells are very, very powerful. They can also use magic to weaken an enemy's defense against a certain element (such as Air or Water). This character does have to be cautious about biting off more than he can chew, though, because using magic at this level costs a huge amount ofmana . Sorcerers also have to be careful when they use their mobility-reduction magic against enemies, for this greatly increases their enmity and when they get free they will really want to hunt down that Sorcerer.
The Sorcerer can only use Herbal Healing on himself, so that's another very important reason to try to stay away from melees or being hit multiple times. Sorcerers who get themselves into binds can rely on short-range magic and on area of effect mobility-reduction spells so that they can get away. When this character is skilled at keeping a good distance between himself and his enemies, however, he is always in control of the fight.
When with a group, the Sorcerer is useful for dealing damage from a distance and for immobilizing enemies so that his allies can cut them down. Sorcerers can work in conjunction with Rangers to weaken or cut a path through a group of enemies before their own group has to sustain much, if any, damage.
If you would love to be a magical and scholarly being, this Aion character is for you.
