When I opened the door
To get me to feed you
And pet and adore.
If I moved to the couch
Engrossed in the news
You climbed on my knee
And sniffed at my shoes.
To the office I went
And you followed me there.
You lay at my feet
Then jumped on a chair.
If I was late in the morning
And you already ate,
You'd come up to get me
And make me feel great.
You were kind and forgiving,
My favorite cat
You shared love and joy
Wherever you sat.
I miss you, sweet Maggie,
My fur-headed friend.
I'll follow you now
To memory's end.
