I understand his or her point of view, but just blew everyone off. They are entitled to their opinion. Yeah, I heard about everybody that was being killed playing the game. People like that just take the game way to the extreme. They get so into what they are doing, that they cannot separate imaginary from reality.
Now, since I have been playing Magic: the Gathering, I have started to hear the same old song and dance routine. People come up to me in my conversations and say that it is a game of the devil. Summoning and conjuring. Casting spells and enchanting things. They say that things are of the devil and he does his bidding through the game. However, to my knowledge no one as of yet has lost their sense of reality and killed someone or committed suicide because they thought they could really do the things that the card says.
When people say these things to me, the only response that I can give someone is that they are entitled to their opinion. Moreover, as I respect their opinion, I let them know that I disagree and sometimes might try to change the subject or maybe even see if they can respect my opinion. In my experience, most people that believe that it is satanic do not really change their minds or respect your opinion.
This, people is just a cool card game that many people really love to play. When people do not understand the concept of things that are different, they tend to choose their own opinions based upon their listening of conversations or someone's review of whatever it is. If people would just try to understand the game more, maybe they could be a little less judgmental.
Magic: the Gathering is just a card game with print on paper cards that kids play for fun. There is not anything more than that to it. A game builds imaginations and teaches strategy. These are qualities that I think are important in the everyday Dog eat Dog world where using your imagination can get you promotions in your job(if applicable) or strategies in working their finances, among other ways that these can be applied.
If people come to you with their different opinions on the game, just be respectful to their opinion and never let them intrude on yours. Make your own opinion on the game and stick to it.
These are just my opinions on the subject and would like you to think very hard about the game before you making any decisions about what you think of the game.

Post a CommentI was always told not worry about ridicule. Being a nerd is awesome because nerds will make the money, drive nice cars, and marry a good wife. The ones that throw rocks at you will be still working at McDonalds when you make the big money. The ones that made fun of your Magic game (learning good things like planning, patience, and creativity) will be crying at the site of you and your success while they flip burgers. Nerds will always be pelted with rocks, but the ones throwing rocks will be screwed. Don't worry about others laughing at you. DnD players built the Computer and the OS (the installer program is called a Wizard and the background programs are called Daemons, LOL). Who is laughing now? Yes, for now just humor all those billions of devil worshipers who do not like Magic, but you will be the one laughing at them when you make the big money.
i have nothing against it cuz it is AWESOME
