Magic Herbs

Over the years, I have had a great fascination, and interest in herbs. As a young boy of about five, mum bought me some seeds, and let me plant them in a pot on the balcony, of our government owned apartment. Every morning I would eagerly jump out of bed ,and check the progress of these amazing plants.
Herbs were a very important ingredient, for early physicians.The herbs medicinal qualities to heal, and the belief that they were the difference ,between life and death, made people believe they were magical.

I have spoken to a few different people, and some "white witches", over the phone and also person to person or witch to person,discussing the magical and medicinal uses of herbs. And out of this research I have found some quite fascinating and weird uses that you may enjoy.(Please do not try this at home unless under the supervision of a witch or druid)

BASIL:
The herb of the Devil,but translated means protection against witches.
But some say the meaning is to breed scorpions.
The herb was said to be used to draw the poison from a snake or insect bite.

BAY LEAF:
The Bay tree was used to protect against the evil powers of darkness, and storms.

DILL:
A main ingredient used in most witches brews.

FENNEL:

If placed in the keyhole of a persons bedroom door, it will ensure that nothing evil, or horrible will disturb the persons sleep.

GARLIC:
Protects against vampires,witches and the evil eye.(Must be the smell)
If it is placed in the ground of your property, it will drive away moles.

MANDRAKE:
It has a forked shape like a human body and believed to have a fearful shriek when it is pulled from the ground.(See Harry Potter)
It is used as a painkiller and a sleeping inducer.
Witches use it in their brews when doing magic.

ROSEMARY:
A symbol of fidelity and remembrance.
Wards of black magic and diseases.

SAGE:
Is said to give long life to its planter.
If it grows well or withers that is said to reflect on the planters business.(Thats why things are bad!)

These are just a handful of some fascinating herbs, that have an amazing magical and medicinal use over the centuries. If we belief that everything in nature, has some sort of inner life, or because it could be a home of a spirit ,or maybe a god. This is the basis of mythology, and religion in every country in the world.

Mother nature will always hide a wealth of magical secrets ,and we will discover some of them ,to cure some of our worst diseases. Even though modern society and scientific knowledge, has some what made things a bit more rational, these beliefs will always remain in superstition,Urban myths and folklore.
