Magical jewelry is the perfect way to carry a spell with you or tap onto the power of stones, especially when you are in the proverbial broom closet or in a place where you do not want your intentions to be known (like at work). Each stone has specific properties that can help you in your work. Some stones are common and easily purchased at jewelry stores.

When buying jewelry, try to buy silver. Silver is one of the most conductive metals there is. If you cannot get silver, gold is the next best ting. Many stones are beautiful and inexpensive and are easily found in most jewelry stores. Garnets come in a variety of colors such as red, orange, pink and purple and attract love and money. Moonstone is very powerful and helps in meditation, moon magic , dreams and second sight as well as helping you gather your power and make it easier for you to use other stones.

Amber is one of the best stones you can have. Amber is petrified tree sap that has lasted millions of years and is sometimes called the "blood of trees." Because amber comes from a living organism, it is very powerful. Often called the witches' stone, amber is the most powerful and magical of all stones and can be used for any kind of spell or working, especially for attracting money. You can wear stones on any piece of jewelry: necklaces, rings, earrings, toe rings, ankle bracelets and piercings. Wearing your ring on a certain hand can have a special effect. Wear a ring on your right hand to send something away from you and on your left hand to draw it towards you.

Your magical jewelry should be cleansed before it is charged for use. Cleanse your jewelry by washing it with mild soap under running water. Pat it dry with a towel instead of rubbing it. To charge the object, leave it in a crystal bowl filled with blessed water under the light of the full moon. If you are having trouble wearing a stone, wear a moonstone with it to help you accept the properties of that stone.
I have a large amber ring which I wear to work waitressing. It really helps me make money and keeps me in a good mood throughout the night and no one is the wiser.

Wear a tiger eye to keep people from lying to you. Amethyst is a healing stone and promotes peace, calm and the second sight. Clear quartz is powerful, but not as powerful as moonstone. Fluorite is beautiful and heightens psychic powers. Bloodstone should be worn when deep healing is needed for serious physical illness.

Always be careful with another witch's jewelry. stones can puck up on the energy of their surroundings. Wearing a piece of jewelry for along time puts a sort of fingerprint on that stone. Touching another person's jewelry or allowing someone else to touch yours interferes with the vibrational energy of that stone and it will take a long time to get it back to its original state again.

Your jewelry will also need to be cleaned periodically. Wearing it often puts an energy imprint on it. Day to day events affect the stones and they can be subjected to dirt, oils, anger, stress, frustration and jealousy. It is not good to allow the negative energies to build up on the stone so you may want to cleanse and empower it once every full moon. Some jewelry is used strictly for magic. This jewelry does not need to be cleaned as often, but should be kept in a box wrapped in black velvet or some other soft, dark material.

Some witches do a full consecration ritual to bless the stone and to use it strictly for the craft. These rituals can include a full cleansing with all five elements and anointing it with oil, but it is not necessary unless it is important to your traditions and beliefs. If you do not have the money for jewelry the loose stones can be kept with you in a pocket or some other place that is close to your skin. It will work the same way.
