The M-1 features their patented "M Back" cavity which positions the weight in an optimal position on each iron to ensure a proper and consistent ball flight. The heads are cast from soft 304 stainless steel to give the feeling of a forging without having to charge the customer the full forged price tag. It's high polished head looks very good at address and its minimal offset and thin top line is very appealing for the better player.
I tired the M-1 irons in their stock True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft with a Lamkin Crossline grip. The ball has a nice penetrating flight to it and the feel of the ball off the face felt like butter! I was able to work the ball many different trajectories with this club, finding it easy to hit low bullets to beat the wind. I was also able to draw and fade the ball with ease yet at the same time able to get forgiveness on off center hits due to his slight cavity and perimeter weighting.
The True Temper Dynamic Gold Shaft and Lamkin Crossline Grip are nice touches to these irons. Most companies who are not well known simply look to make a quick buck and put any cheap shaft and grip combination they can, as long as it keeps their costs down. If you are in the Arizona area, Magique offers a state of the art fitting center and many custom grip and shaft options. Their "Gram-Matched" weight system ensures that your clubs will feel great from 3 iron to Sand Wedge. This system helps the builders to know that each head is properly gaped in terms of weight for a consistent feel. Loft and Lie, along with custom length alterations are also available. They off a full service shop with free custom fitting for each customer.
I loved hitting these irons and after playing their driver and fairway wood this Summer, it is safe to say that I will be ordering a set of these irons over the Winter to have in my bag for next season! Give them a try, they are made of the highest quality and are almost half the cost of your major OEM's!
