I have had trouble falling and staying asleep for the past few years. I've had many restless nights, lying awake in bed. My mind seems to be very active at night and so my thoughts seem to keep me awake. This also seems to be a problem for some people who have trouble sleeping.
I would like to share with you what works for me. It doesn't mean it will work for everyone who has sleep issues. However, I think it is certainly worth the try if your sleep issues are interfering with your daily life.
I do not like taking prescription medications for sleep. Some prescription medications can be addicting and cause unpleasant side effects. I prefer to go the natural route, where the side effects are lessened, if there are any. Also, the supplements that I take to help my sleep, are also good for the body. They are antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. So they are benefiting me in other ways as well.
One mineral that I take to help me fall asleep at night is Magnesium Glycinate. I heard from a friend, who was taking this mineral, that it helped to calm down her mind and body before sleep. I bought a bottle of Magnesium Glycinate and began my own experiment.
The very first night of taking Magnesium Glycinate, I felt much more relaxed than usual. I felt a calm sensation in my mind and body. I took 200 mg of this supplement around bedtime.
Within a half hour, I was peacefully off to sleep. At the time that I first started Magnesium Glycinate, I was not taking any other sleeping aids or supplements. I wanted to see how effective this mineral was for my sleep by itself.
I slept the entire night through to the morning. I woke up feeling refreshed, not groggy or drowsy. It felt so good to have a good night of sleep. Ever since the first time I started taking Magnesium Glycinate, I've been taking it ever since.
I also take Melatonin now because I've been going through a very stressful time and the Magnesium Glycinate alone has not been as effective. This is probably due to my stress level being very high. The combination of both supplements helps me to clear my mind and fall asleep much quicker and stay asleep.
My neighbor and I were talking and he told me that he also had been experiencing sleep issues at night. I gave him some of my Magnesium Glycinate. I told him to take 2 or 3 before bedtime for the next few days to try it out and see if it would work for him.
After a couple days, he knocked on my door to tell me that he slept like a baby. He said he fell asleep faster and stayed asleep throughout the night. He was very pleased and asked where he could buy the supplement because he wanted to take them every night.
I bought my bottle of Magnesium Glycinate online. I did a Google search and it showed up for sale from several different online stores. While doing my Google search, I also saw a few good comments from other people using this for sleep. So it gave me even more motivation to buy this product.
I take 2, 100mg capsules almost every night. I can say it has definitely had a positive impact on my sleep. I am grateful to my friend for recommending this to me. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night, it may help you with your sleep as well. You may want to speak with a doctor first, before taking any kind of supplements.
