Magnesium is a very important mineral in the body. It helps to regulate other minerals such as potassium, sodium and calcium, all of which play important roles in controlling the heart muscle. Without the appropriate levels of magnesium your heart will stop and you would die.
Irregular heartbeats especially skipping or stopping of the heart can cause great concern. Hospital tests can be expensive and even after many tests and dollars spent, the results can be inconclusive. There is nothing more frustrating that feeling your heart racing, skipping beats or even stopping and being told that your doctor can't find a thing. Many doctors will even prescribe medications to regulate the heartbeat that could be more dangerous than the condition itself. The body is a precise machine and when something is out of balance it causes problems and can even kill you.
Simply taking magnesium supplements can improve the rhythm of your heart without taking medications that usually have other adverse effects on your body. The way this mineral works is in the heart muscle. Calcium is the mineral in control of tensing the heart muscle, magnesium relaxes it, both are needed for the heart to beat. In times of their imbalance or prolonged stress, the body muscles tense and more magnesium is needed to relax the heart properly to complete the beat or pump. Blood pressure can then become higher. The more tense the heart is, the more inefficient it becomes when pumping blood. You may become tired as a result. You can also develop angina. These symptoms when combined can earn you a costly emergency room visit and appear as a serious heart problem to a doctor, when over the counter magnesium supplements could be the remedy.
This article is not intended to diagnose or treat heart problems, but is general information that can provide help, you should always consult your doctor. If you are experiencing these symptoms or are under unusual stress you might want to try magnesium, it might just save your life. I should know, it worked for me.
