I love kitchen accessories that look great and keep your organized. Your magnetic recipe board will look awesome and be the perfect place to display family photos, treasured recipes, and all that art work the kids bring home!
To Make a Magnetic Recipe Board You Will Need:
Magnetic Sheeting
Chalkboard paint
Chalk
Paint brush
Pre made wood frame
Picture hanging hooks
The first step is buy a nice large wood picture frame. Go for a real wood frame that is about 18X24 inches. This nice size will allow your to organize more recipes, photos, and artwork in yoru kitchen.
Now, have your sheet of magnet board cut to size. You can buy magnet board at the local home improvement store. In most cases they can also cut it for your as well.
Now, take the magnet board and paint on a coat of chalkboard paint. Almost ever single chalk board paint product I have ever used is not to be applied to a primed surface. So, read your instructions and apply the chalk board paint to the magnet board sing their instructions.
While, the chalk board paint is drying on the magnetic board you can work on the frame of the magnet recipe board.
Remove the glass and any cardboard backing on the frame. You can sue these materials for another project, as you will not be needing them for your magnetic recipe board.
When the magnetic board painted with chalk board paint is dry you can insert it into the premade wood frame.
One of the reasons to use a woo frame is so that you can screw hooks into it. Then you can hang small buckets fill of chalk or magnets form the hooks.
Use the exiting picture hanging hardware on the wood frame to hanger yoru magnetic recipe board.
If there is no picture hanging hardware on the frame, then install your own. You can find picture hanging hardware at any home imporvemtn or craft store.
Now, you can use chalk to write grocery lists and recipes on the magnetic recipe board. Use your favorite magnets to adhere your children's art work and photos to the board!
You can change out their artwork as they product more! Kids can also leave messages for your on your magnetic recipe board project, maybe messages about what they want for dinner!
By the way, told you this was an easy kitchen magnetic recipe board project!
