How Does the Wine Clip Work?
The wine clip is placed on the neck of the wine bottle. It supposedly enhances the taste of your wine by pulling in more oxygen as the wine is being poured, breaking up tannins and softening the taste. The magnets on the wine clip help aerate the wine and instantly change the taste as it moves through the magnetic field from the bottle to your wine glass.
There are two arrows on the wine clip and it's apparently a matter of personal taste whether you want to point the arrow up or down. If you point the arrow up, it is supposed to change the flavor of the wine in a different way than pointing the arrow down.
Arrow Up or Arrow Down?
With the wine clip attached to the wine bottle with the arrows pointing down, you'll get a very undesirable flavor. It has an almost metallic taste and it's much harsher than the taste of the wine without the wine clip.
With the wine clip attached to the wine bottle with the arrows pointing up, the wine clip really does seem to work. It opens the flavor of the wine and produces a positive, if not extremely noticeable, change in the taste of the wine.
So it Works?
Well, it appears that the wine clip does do what it promises to do. And that's to instantly improve the taste of wine by softening tannins and drawing in more oxygen. The taste definitely improves when the wine clip is used with arrows pointing up.
However, the improvement may not be worth the $34.95 plus shipping and handling you'll have to pay for this gadget. You can most probably improve the taste of your wine as much as the wine clip does by simply letting your wine "breathe" for several minutes before pouring it. It amounts to about the same thing. I don't believe the wine clip makes so much of a difference in the taste that it's worth the price.
What About all Those Testimonials?
If you visit the website at http://www.thewineclip.com, you can watch several video testimonials and taste tests that are supposed to prove the effectiveness of the wine clip. My only advice here is to read in between the lines.
I have personally tried the wine clip and I can confidently say that yes, it does work (however minimally) and would make a nice novelty but it isn't worth the price and hassle. A good bottle of wine will taste fine without this contraption and a bad bottle of wine will always taste bad, wine clip or not.

Great job...I was curious about these.
I really like the way you developed this article. You are a real AC treasure!
Always good to know if these types of things work. Few do, but then there are a handful of gems. This one doesn't seem worth the price, though. Then again, christmas for the one who has everthing, I suppose!
Not a wine drinker but good job on the review.
